Vi fortsetter med publiseringen av de redaksjonelle sakene som var tiltenkt Reistadløpsavisa 2021, og denne uken gjengir vi intervju med de tre eier- og arrangørklubbene Bardufoss & OIF, IL Kampen og Bardu IL.

Det er en imponerende dugnadsånd som preger hele arrangementet. Fra 2020 av nyter klubbene også økonomiske fordeler av sitt glødende engasjement for frivillighet.
BOIF Ski, IL Kampen og Bardu IL Ski har de tre første årene lagt ned til sammen over 10.000 dugnadstimer i forbindelse med Reistadløpet. Tidligere har klubbene gjennomsnittlig fått ca 30.000 kroner hver for sin durabelige innsats. Men fra 2017 til 2019 gjorde man en avtale der ingen utbetalinger ble gjort. Dette for at man fra 2020 skulle få inn mer betydelige beløp på sponsorsiden.
Og avtaler er til for å holdes. Fra og med 2020 fikk de ovennevnte klubbene en økonomisk godtgjørelse på ca 100.000 kroner hver. Dette takket være solide bidrag fra generalpartner Sparebank1 Nord-Norge, hovedpartner Statskog og Reistadløpet AS.
BOIF SKI
– Noen i klubben jobber på dugnad hele året med planlegging av Reistadløpet. Ja, det er sikkert en 20-30 stykker. På selve dagen har vi opp mot 120 i sving fra BOIF Ski, forteller Olaug Fossbakk, som var leder i idrettslagets skigruppe i 2020.
Der i gården handler det mye om å betjene salg og den slags i hallen på renndagen, samt planlegging og gjennomførelse ute på stadion der løperne går i mål.
– BOIF Ski har ansvaret for løypene fra Kampenhytta og til mål, og her er det mange dugnadstimer i forkant, og også løypevakter på selve dagen. I tillegg kan vi nevne rigging av stadion som første året tok nesten ei uke, men siste år kun to-tre dager, med mange folk i aksjon.
Når de nå kan vente seg en god slump med penger, hilses dette naturligvis velkommen.
– Det er veldig, veldig bra, og en stor motivasjonsfaktor, bedyrer Fossbakk.
BOIF Ski har omtrent 175 medlemmer. Mange er aktive. Både juniorer og seniorer må reise mye for å delta i for eksempel Norgescupen.
– De fleste av disse rennene er sørpå, så det går med mye penger. Med innkomne sponsormidler kan vi hjelpe dem litt, slik at ikke alt må brukes privat, sier Fossbakk.
I tillegg til dette kan friske midler også brukes til aktiviteter for de yngste løperne etter skiforbundets anbefalinger.
– Vi jobber med et skileikanlegg. Vi har litt av det nå, men ønsker å få inn mer lek i treninger og onsdagsrenn. Dette er viktig, ikke minst med tanke på rekrutteringa i klubben, sier Fossbakk.
BARDU IL SKI
Erlend Kroken har vært leder av skigruppa til Bardu IL i over fire år.
– Det var en veldig god ide å innlemme Reistadløpet i Visma Ski Classics. På den måten greide vi å løfte arrangementet. Det ble mer arbeid på oss, men det var vi klar over. Vi var også innforstått med at det kunne gå litt tid før vi fikk inn penger for arbeidet, sier Kroken.
Han understreker at det viktigste er at man har klart å blåse nytt liv i Reistadløpet, som før Visma Ski Classics hadde en litt dalende kurve.
– I tillegg har vi fått arrangere Barnas Reistadsprint i tre år. Det er et flott tiltak for skiidretten og rekrutteringa.
Bardu IL står som eier av lysløypa i Bardu, og skigruppa drifter denne i samarbeid med kommunen. Dette medfører en del kostnader.
– Sponsormidler kommer derfor veldig godt med. Men størsteparten av det vi nå får inn av midler fra Reistadløpet vil gå til aktiviteter og samlinger for barn og unge. Vi har ingen treningsavgift, og dekker i tillegg startkontingenter, samt halvparten av utgiftene ved samlinger for våre løpere. Ingen får lønn eller honorar hos oss, legger han til.
IL KAMPEN
– Vi er veldig glade for at vi får noe tilbake etter å ha lagt ned ufattelige mengder med dugnad, sier Pia Figenschou, daglig leder i IL Kampen.
Det er absolutt ikke vanskelig å finne måter å bruke pengene på.
– De kommer vi blant annet til å bruke for å videreutvikle Kampenhytta. I 2019 bygde vi ferdig et anneks, som fungerer som sikringshytte og overnatting for komitéen under Reistadløpet.
IL Kampen har 146 medlemmer.
– Minst 50-60 personer er i sving på selve løpsdagen, men vi jobber jo med Reistadløpet hele året, sier Figenschou.
Sponsormidlene får altså medlemmene og indirekte andre turfolk nyte godt av.
– Fra 1. mars og ut vintersesongen har vi kafé i Kampenhytta hver lørdag og søndag – i et «normalår». Men hytta kan leies hele året utenom dette.
BEING REWARDED FOR THEIR VOLUNTARY WORK
The whole Reistad-event is characterized by an impressive voluntary work. As from 2020, the three ski-clubs organizing this event, also receive an economic compensation for the ardent contribution from all the volunteers.
The three ski-clubs, BOIF Ski, IL Kampen and Bardu IL Ski, have, during the three previous years, put down more than 10 000 hours of voluntary work in connection with the Reistadløpet. Before the Reistadløpet became part of the Visma Ski Classics, the clubs received an average of NOK 30 000, – each for their voluntary work. In the years 2017 to 2019 the clubs agreed to go without a compensation for this work in order to spend all the money to improve the arrangement and make it as professional as possible. This has paid off. Since last year the three clubs has received an economic compensation of about NOK 100 000,- each. This is thanks to our sponsors, the general partner Sparebank 1 Nord-Norge, the main partner Statskog and Reistadløpet AS.
BOIF SKI
“Some people in the club work with the Reistadløpet all year round, planning and organizing. On the actual race day about 120 volunteers are at work for the club”, says Olaug Fossbakk, the chairman of the ski-club in 2020.
Their work is mainly to be in charge of the sales in the Bardufosshallen to make sure all the skiers get something to eat and drink. They are also responsible for organizing the prize-giving ceremonyand manning the race-office in the hall. However, their main task is toplan and carry through the reception of all the participants at the finish-line.
The club is also responsible for grooming the tracks from the Kampenhytta to the finish-line and many volunteers are needed for this and also for the ski-patrol on the actual race day. The rigging of the stadium takes a lot of time, in 2017 it took approximately one week, but now it takes only two or three days depending on how many people are at work. Knowing that this year the club will get an economic compensation, the members are really eager to contribute.
“The club, BOIF Ski, has about 175 members. A lot of these members are active skiers and to take part in ski-races, both junior- and senior-skiers have to travel quite far. Most of the races take place in the southern part of Norway and flying costs a lot of money. Receiving money from our sponsors, gives the club the opportunity to pay for some of these travels and consequently makes it easier for more members to take part since they do not have to pay for everything themselves”, Fossbakk says.
It is also very important for the club to spend some of these money on the younger members, something that also the Norwegian Skiing Federation recommends.
“We want to create areas for the children where they might play on skis, both when they are training and during local races. This is extremely important for us and in particular for recruiting new members” Fossbakk states.
BARDU IL SKI
Erlend Kroken has been the chairman of the ski-club Bardu IL Ski for more than four years.
“I think it was a brilliant idea to include the Reistadløpet in the Visma Ski Classics. This made us work harder to improve the race. This of course meant more work for our members and we also realized that it would take some time before the club would receive any money from an eventual profit”, Kroken says.
He underlines that the most important thing for the club has been to revitalize the race which was showing a decline in the number of participants in the years ahead of the VSC.
“We have also organized the Children’s Reistadsprint for three years. This is really an important factor for recruiting to the sport”.
“The club, Bardu IL, owns the flood-lit tracks in Bardu and the ski-club is responsible for the grooming in co-operation with the municipality. This means expenses for the club. The money from the sponsors is therefore a very welcome addition to the economy of the club.
However, most of the money the Reistadløpet brings in, will be spent on activities and training camps for the children and the young people in the club. Our members do not pay any training-fee and in addition the club pays the registration-fees for the races where our members participate. We also pay half of the expenses for the various training camps they go to. Nobody in the club receives any wages or fees for the job they do in the club” Kroken adds.
IL KAMPEN
“We are very happy about getting something in return for all the voluntary work that our members are doing in connection with the Reistadløpet” Pia Figenschou, the chairman of the club IL Kampen, says.
“There is absolutely no problem in finding good causes to spend the money on. Amongst other things, we will spend some of it to develop further the cabin “Kampenhytta”. In 2019 we finished building a smaller cabin close to the “Kampenhytta” which provides for extra beds and as a place for the committee to stay the night during the Reistadløpet.
There are 146 members in the club, IL Kampen.
“At least 50 to 60 people are at work on the actual race day but of course some of us also work with the Reistadløpet all year round” Figenschou says.
The money they receive from the sponsors, benefits both their members but also the people visiting the Kampenhytta.
“From the 1st. of March and till the end of the winter season, we keep the cabin open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays serving coffee and light snacks. It is also possible to rent the cabin all year round”.
