RACE REGULATIONS REISTADLØPET 2025

Organizing body

The Organizing Committee (OC) of REISTADLØPET consists of members from the three sports clubs; Bardu IL, IL Kampen and Bardufoss og Omegn IF.

In accordance, the Norwegian Army has an important supporting role in the race.

The race is organized in accordance with the regulations of the Norwegian Ski Federation and FIS. Since 2017 REISTADLØPET has been a part of the VISMA Ski Classics Long Distance Cup.

Day of competition: 29th March 2025

 

1. Distance and technique

The event will be held in CLASSIC technique on a 50K and 35K course. This will be supervised strictly all along the track by officials. Furthermore, there is no right to ask for “free way” for those who want to overtake another competitor.

The Jury has the right to penalise or disqualify competitors who do not obey these regulations.

2. Age limits

  • Everyone born in 2008 or older may participate in SCR50K
  • Everyone born in 2010 or older may participate in SCR35K with ranking
  • Everyone born in 2012 or older may participate in SCR35K without ranking or without timing.

Registration is valid only after payment of the entry fee and after all necessary documents are received by the organizing committee.

The entry gives the right to complete the race and to use all the services provided by the Organizing Committee: start bib, feeding stations along the course and at finish, technical assistance on the course, pole exchange, medical assistance, transport of clothes from start to finish (max weight 3 kg and value not higher than the entry fee), timing and race packet.

All other expenses will be charged to the competitor.

4. Liability/insurance

All participants are entirely responsible for his/her state of health during the race and must have personal medical and liability insurance.

The organizer cannot be held responsible on any account in the event of an accident or failure due to bad health or to insufficient preparation.

The Organizing Committee disclaims all liability in case of loss, theft or deterioration of equipment during transport and before, during and after the event.

The organizers of the competition have insurance in accordance with the regulations of the Norwegian Sports Association.

To take part in the race it is necessary to be physically and technically prepared. When entering the race every participant assumes the responsibility for being properly trained for participa

5. Registration

  • Registration may be made via the online registration system at
    www.reistadlopet.no till Friday 28th March 2025 at 20:00h. Online registration is the prefered option for the OC which helps us keep down workload and costs.
  • Registration may also be made at the Race Office at the Municipality Hall, Setermoen on Friday 28th March 2025 between 11:00h and 20:00h.
  • It will only be possible to sign up for the race on the day of the competition for SCR 35K without timing.

6. Competitor cancellation and entry re-registration

In the case of no-show, the entry fee will not be refunded.

Competitors who are unable to take part in the race may transfer their entry fee (not bib number) to a person of their choice. It might also be possible to change the race distance from 50K to 35K if replacement-numbers for the new distance are available.

The re-registration takes place by written application to info@reistadlopet.no no later than 26th March 2025 at 23:59, or directly at the Race Office. A fee of 100 NOK will apply.

Participants starting under a false name will be disqualified. In case of lost/left behind start bib, a 600 NOK replacement-fee must be paid.

7. Race cancellation

If the organizer is forced to cancel the race due to force majeure before the race day, the organizer may keep 50 % of the entry-fee to cover its expenses. If the race is moved to a new date, the competitors who do not show up at the new race day will not be reimbursed the entry fee. If the race is cancelled on the race day due to force majeure, the organizer will keep the whole entry fee.

8. Race Office

  • The Race Office is situated at the Municipality Hall, Setermoen.
  • Opening hours are:
    • Friday 28th March: 11:00h – 20:00h
    • Saturday 29th March: 08:00h – 11:00h

9. Start number distribution time & location

The start numbers and race packet will be handed out at the Race Office.

10. Ski Village Setermoen, Bardufoss and Finnsnes

Thursday 27th March and Friday 28th March there will be a «Childrens’ Reistadsprint” held in and around the Ski Village at Finnens and Setermoen.

Saturday 29th March the “Ski Village” will be organized in the finish area at Bardufoss, and there will be a «show-competition» in the ski village at Finnens in the evening.

Sunday 30th March the ski village will be at Finnsnes with a lot of events for both children and grown ups.

ELITE WOMEN / ELITE MEN:

The organizer will use SKI CLASSICS seeding. However, the Race Director and organizer will solely decide if other skiers with appropriate FIS points will be moved into the ELITE group based on previous results indicated in a mail to info@reistadlopet.no no later than 24th March 2025.

SCR 50K:

For SCR 50K non-ELITE-class-participants the organizer will conduct seeding based on previous results from an extensive list of races incl. SKI CLASSICS races. For international participants, the organizer may consider seeding based on previous results from other races if indicated in a mail to info@reistadlopet.no no later than 24th March 2025.

All skiers must enter the start gate according to their start bib, otherwise they are subject to sanctions according to ICR, i.e. time penalty.

SCR 35K:

For SCR 35K participants the organizer will conduct seeding based on previous results from an extensive list of races incl. SKI CLASSICS races. For international participants, the organizer may consider seeding based on previous results from other races if indicated in a mail to info@reistadlopet.no no later than 24th March 2025.

SCR 35K TIMING:

The SCR35K participants will enter the start gate suitable for her/his anticipated finishing time. Participants not complying with these regulations are subject to a sanction according to ICR, i.e. time penalty.

SCR 35 NO-TIMING:

The SCR35K has a long history with a separate class with NO TIMING. SCR 35K NO TIMING also starts at 11:00h behind the other classes. There will be NO possibility to start ahead of the MASS START.

12. Start procedure

The start order is mass start iaw. para 11 above.

For the SCR ELITE classes the official race-timing starts from the moment of the gunshot.

For the rest, the official race-timing starts from the moment each participant crosses the start line.

Start gates will be open 15 min before the start.

  

13. Timing procedures

The start bib has an integrated timing-chip. The start bib must be visible from the front during the entire race. If a racer does not start, the start bib with the timing chip must be returned to the OC.

ELITE CLASS participants are responsible for the chip and GPS-tracker from the moment the start bib is handed out and until it is returned at the finish. Lost or non-returned chip will result in a penalty of 600 NOK, lost or not returned GPS-tracker will result in a penalty of 150 €.

The race course is marked with kilometre-markers every 5K, and at every 1K the last 10 km.

All skiers must pass all check points to be ranked, the timing system will automatically register when passing. Any skier who does not pass the TWO cut-off points (Orta, Kampen) within the indicated cut-off times will be taken out of the race; the timing chip will be removed, and they will be transported by OC to the finish area.

In the case of withdrawal or abandon from the event, regardless of the motives, participants must inform the closest first aid post, or members of the organizing committee at the nearest feeding station and hand over the start-bib with the integrated timing-chip.

Skis may be changed during the race only if the skis or bindings are broken or damaged. The Competition Jury must be notified of the problem with damaged equipment immediately after finishing the event.

Sprints are marked 500 – 300 – 100m before the timing line.                                

  

16. Medical service during the race and emergency number

Medical services are available at medical stations indicated on the official course map.

Write the name of your emergency contact person on the reverse side of your bib.

17. Littering/waste areas

Participants are asked to respect the environment. There will be waste areas on the racecourse before and after every feeding station and at other specially assigned sections. Please dispose of your waste (drink bottles, gel tubes etc.) next to the course. Do not throw waste into the forest or in road ditches as it will be hard for the cleaning crew to find it after the event.

It is prohibited to litter outside of the waste areas, violators are subject to a sanction according to ICR.

18. Use of audio equipment during the race

For safety reasons it is forbidden to use audio equipment (earphones) during the race.

19. Racer conduct

Ski marathons involve competitors with a wide range of experience and ability, good sportsmanship and courtesy towards other competitors are essential.

Slow movers should keep to the right and keep the left lanes free for faster skiers.

20. Awards ceremony

Part 1 of the official prize ceremony is the SKI CLASSICS flower ceremony for SCR50K in the finish area at the VIP-trailer immediately after the finish of the best male and female.

Part 2 of the official prize ceremony, all classes in the Ski Village, time to be decided. FIS rules will apply, participants need to show up to get their prizes.

Participants gain credits every year they participate and will have a special participant prize, pins or medals, at their 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 12th year. Participants may pick-up their pins or medals at the Race Office in the Ski Village.

Special participants prizes extending 12 years will be part of the official prize ceremony part 2. Complete information with regards to prizes can be found on the website.

Prize money from Ski Classics will be paid upon invoice to ceo@reistadlopet.no. Amount must be stated in EUR.

21. Doping control

Doping tests will be carried out in accordance with the regulations of WADA and all participants must cooperate. Refusal of testing will be considered equal to a positive doping result.

22. Luggage service

The organizer provides a clothing bag identified with the start number for each participant for the transport of personal belongings with a maximum weight of 3 kg from the start to the finish area.

Bags must be deposited by the participant in the provided trucks parked near the start area to be transported to the finish area.

23. Finish services

At the finish area you will find the last feeding station, the luggage from the starting area, showers and a Ski Village with multiple services including food courts. Result boards will be available.

24. Shuttle service/transportation/parking

There is a commercial shuttle service from the finish area at RUSTAHØGDA to the start at SETERMOEN in the morning. There will also be a shuttle service from the finish area at RUSTAHØGDA to the start area at SETERMOEN after the race for people who need to pick up their cars.

It is possible to pre-order a place in the bus as part of the online RACE REGISTRATION, However, it will also be possible to buy a ticket when entering the bus. Cost: 125 NOK.

The organizers wish to have as many parking spaces as possible available for the public at Rustahøgda and therefore strongly request the participants arriving by car – or preferably by carpooling – to use the parking lot at the Start (Artillerisletta/Setermoen).

After the race and the prize-giving ceremony, you may return by shuttlebus to Setermoen to pick up the car. Parking at the start and finish areas is free of charge.

Please take your time while driving and allow for enough time to accommodate to slow traffic.

26. Data protection

Personal details given upon registration will only be used for the race database and will not be given out to third parties.

27. Copyright

By entering the competition, participants give their consent to the organizing committee, including partners and media in general, to use images in which he/she appears, taken on the occasion of his/her participation in the competition, on any media including promotional and/or advertising documents, all over the world and for the longest statutory duration.

28. Respect of volunteers and race officials

All skiers must respect the volunteers and OC members. Inappropriate behaviour towards the volunteers and organiser may result in a penalty or disqualification.

Race officials and volunteers will wear an official REISTADLOPET CREW-bib.

29. Accepting the regulations

By completing the registration each participant acknowledges having read the race regulations and accepting them unconditionally. Offenses may lead to disqualification for current or future events and the forfeit of any or all awards.

30. Protests

All protests concerning race results and breaking the regulations etc. must be brought up to the Jury as follows:

  • Concerning issues during the race: 30 min after passing the finish line
  • Concerning timing/result: 30 min after official results are released
  • The amount of 100 NOK must be deposited with the submission of the protes

Jury consists of FIS Technical Delegate (chairman), National Technical Delegate, Chief of Competition and SC Race Director.

31. Other unforeseen cases

Will be solved by the Organizing Committee.
